The rise in crude burning is also attributed to elevated fuel oil prices, according to analysts and market sources.<\/p><p>By diverting more crude for domestic power use, Saudi Arabia, the leading producer within the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), may help moderate concerns surrounding a potential global oversupply. This follows OPEC+\u2019s decision, which includes Russia and other allied producers, to raise production by nearly 1 million barrels per day (bpd) across April, May, and June.<\/p><p>Wood Mackenzie forecasts Saudi Arabia&#8217;s crude consumption for power generation to range between 465,000 and 470,000 bpd in 2025, reflecting an increase of 10,000 to 15,000 bpd compared to 2024. Several market participants have similarly indicated expectations of a year-on-year increase.
