Elementor #3170

According to data obtained by MetalMiner, the sustained decline in seasonal demand has continued to exert downward pressure on hot-rolled coil (HRC) prices in Northern Europe since late June.

As a result, steel mills are currently offering prices in the range of €540 to €550 (approximately $625 to $640) per metric ton ex-works for August rolling with September delivery. This reflects a decrease from the €570 (approximately $660) reported as of June 23. It is important to note that cold-rolled coil (CRC) typically commands a premium of around €100 (approximately $115) per metric ton over HRC.

Simultaneously, import prices have declined to below €500 (approximately $580) per metric ton. Notably, there is confirmed evidence of at least one transaction involving Indonesian-origin material at €490 (approximately $570) per metric ton, including cost and freight (CFR) to European ports for October shipment. In comparison, during late June, market sources reported offers and concluded deals for Southeast Asian-origin materials in the range of €505 to €510 (approximately $585 to $592) per metric ton.
