OPEC+ 8 Members Announce 547,000 BPD Production Adjustment for September
Augest 2025
The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has announced that Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman will implement a production adjustment of 547,000 barrels per day in September 2025.
The decision follows a virtual meeting held on 3 August 2025, during which the eight OPEC+ member countries convened to assess global market conditions and outlook. This meeting builds upon earlier declarations of additional voluntary production adjustments made in April and November 2023.
According to the official statement, “In view of a steady global economic outlook and favorable market fundamentals—reflected in low oil inventory levels—and in line with the decision of 5 December 2024 to initiate a gradual and flexible return of the 2.2 million barrels per day in voluntary adjustments beginning 1 April 2025, the aforementioned countries will implement a production adjustment of 547,000 barrels per day in September 2025, based on the required production level for August 2025.”
The statement further noted, “This adjustment corresponds to four monthly increments. The phased withdrawal of the additional voluntary adjustments remains subject to pause or reversal, contingent upon evolving market dynamics. This flexibility is intended to support ongoing efforts to maintain stability in the global oil market.”
